Job Description:

The HSE Improvement Specialist role requires a Full UK driving licence with regular travel to branches in and around the South West. Your main responsibility will be to support the Head of HSE in delivering the business’s HSE Annual Operating Plan through various improvement activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Identifying and designing continual improvement programmes tailored to specific business unit needs, ensuring stakeholder buy-in.
  2. Driving improvement programmes based on risk profiles, incident experience, and industry learnings, including areas such as workplace transport, product storage, and out-of-branch activities.
  3. Participating actively in HSE forums and supporting the implementation of related projects.
  4. Supporting distribution centre management to enhance HSE culture and performance.
  5. Providing hands-on support for HSE programme implementation and tracking success metrics.
  6. Supporting high-risk branches with visible safety support and action plan development.
  7. Reviewing HSE data streams to derive insights for risk reduction and safety improvements.
  8. Assisting in resolving complex HSE issues escalated by regional teams.
  9. Supporting Incident Review Boards with technical expertise and ensuring learnings are documented and shared.
