Job description

We are seeking a HSE Advisor to join our established HSE Team in Luton / Lincoln. In this role, you will evaluate existing policies, processes, and systems of work to ensure Leonardo’s services meet customer needs and align with company policies and processes. Your responsibilities will include investigation and assessment, training, support services, and health, safety & environment management.

The HSE Advisor will support the site HSE Manager for the Luton Cluster by providing Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) advice and support to various site stakeholders, with travel to sites as required. This position can be based at either our Luton or Lincoln site.

How you will do it
  1. Support and guide on various HSE matters.
  2. Build relationships with key stakeholders across sites, promoting a positive safety culture and best practices.
  3. Drive continuous improvement in HSE standards and practices.
  4. Manage all HSE aspects across Luton-managed sites.
  5. Maintain the Risk & COSHH assessment databases.
  6. Manage safety data sheet listings.
  7. Conduct contractor and visitor inductions.
  8. Perform internal HSE audits in accordance with ISO 45001, 14001, 50001 standards.
  9. Compile and analyze BSC reports.
  10. Update emergency preparedness arrangements and conduct training.
  11. Review and update relevant documentation.
  12. Keep the HSE notice board current.
  13. Lead HSE projects as assigned by the HSE Manager.
  14. Conduct regular site safety inspections.
  15. Participate in LEUK-wide projects occasionally.
What we look for
  1. Ability to achieve SC level security clearance.
  2. Proven track record of delivering HSE improvements.
  3. Knowledge of ISO Management Systems (ISO 14001, 45001, 50001).
  4. Experience in running and auditing HSE management systems.
  5. Understanding of safety culture development.
  6. NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum; ideally working towards NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ Level 6.
  7. Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
  9. Proficient in MS Office and good analytical skills.
  10. Resilient and able to work under pressure.
  11. Willingness to travel and work at different sites.
  12. Experience in Business Continuity planning.
Security Clearance

Must be able to achieve SC level clearance.
