Job summary

lvet Recruitment is seeking an HSE Advisor for a family-run civil engineering business in the North East. You will produce Safe Systems of Work, risk assessments and method statements, and visit sites to audit safety practices.

You will support the HSE Manager, assist with staff training, and conduct LOLER/PUWER checks while promoting the company’s safety ethos across projects. A UK driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction industry essential.
• NEBOSH qualification or working towards.
• Understanding of ISO9001, 14001 and 45001.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• IOSH qualification desirable.

The company operates on specialist Civil Engineering works across the UK delivering concrete

Within the role you will be expected to carry out the following duties:

• Produce Safe Systems of Work, as well as Risk Assessments and Method Statements
• Visit various sites and audit the safety systems in place
• Support the HSE Manager in implementing new, safe working practices across the sites
• Assist/advise with the training requirements for staff on site and organise for the training sessions to be carried out
• Training requirements include; Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Asbestos Awareness, CAT & Genny etc
• Carry out LOLER & PUWER checks on site
• Promote the companies Health and Safety ethos both within the business and externally
• Ensure operational compliance to HSE regulations
• Writing of reports for Accidents, Incidents and Near Misses on site and ensure that these are properly logged

To be considered for the role you must hold some, if not all, of the following:

• Experience of working in the construction industry is essential
• Ideally you will have worked in a civils subcontracting business
• An understanding of Health and Safety within the Construction and Civils sectors
• NEBOSH qualified or ongoing
• Understanding of ISO9001, 14001 and 45001 accreditations
• IOSH Qualification desirable
• Full UK Driving License

Remuneration
