Job summary

Jobtailor in Reading seeks an experienced HSE Advisor to provide strategic health, safety and environment guidance across management, clients, and projects. You will lead investigations, develop improvement plans, and drive regulatory compliance while engaging sites, contractors, and teams.

The role requires NEBOSH and auditing qualifications, strong knowledge of regulations, and a proactive approach to training, inspections, and reporting. On-site work across offices and locations is expected.

• NEBOSH Certificate
• Auditing qualification
• Knowledge of industry regulations & HSE requirements
• NVQ Level 4 / IOSH qualification desirable

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic HSE advice and guidance to Management on Company, Client, legislative, and regulatory requirements
• Communicate and monitor HSE objectives, initiatives, and performance
• Develop HSE improvement plans and KPIs using performance monitoring, trend analysis, and timely reporting
• Lead and support incident and accident investigations
• Identify and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Communicate incident findings, lessons learned, and best practices across projects, contracts, offices, and work locations
• Manage HSE interface requirements and ensure compliance with Company, Client, and project documentation
• Build working relationships with Management, Client HSE representatives, site/offshore teams, contractors, and stakeholders
• Promote workforce engagement through HSE meetings, workshops, forums, and safety initiatives
• Coordinate and participate in Client, subcontractor, and internal HSE meetings
• Develop and maintain an HSE visit programme covering offices, projects, installations, worksites, and contractor locations
• Oversee HSE arrangements across assigned office and project locations
• Ensure emergency response arrangements are established, tested, communicated, and aligned with requirements
• Deliver HSE inductions, training, coaching, and mentoring
• Develop HSE presentations and awareness materials
• Conduct and support HSE inspections and site visits, identifying improvement opportunities and following up on actions

Requirements

• Proven experience in a technical role with relevant HSE experience
• Previous HSE experience within a relevant industry
• NEBOSH Certificate
• Recognised HSE auditing qualification
• Good knowledge of applicable industry regulations and HSE requirements
• NVQ Level 4 / IOSH qualification desirable
