About Us

At Steatite, we design, manufacture, and supply advanced technology solutions — from industrial embedded computing and custom lithium battery packs to secure communications, antennas, and imaging systems.

Our innovations operate in some of the world’s most demanding environments. From the ocean floor to the edge of space, Steatite technology ensures critical systems perform reliably, consistently, and safely — 24/7. Whether enabling scientific discovery in extreme conditions, transmitting high-bandwidth data across challenging terrain, processing vast volumes of traffic data, or supporting secure transactions on the move, our solutions are built to perform when it matters most.

From day one, you will be part of an organisation that prioritises your safety and wellbeing, values your contribution, and is committed to making your career both rewarding and impactful.

The Opportunity

Make safety more than a policy. Help make it part of how we work.

At Steatite, we design and manufacture specialist technology and engineering solutions for demanding environments. Behind that work are talented people, complex processes and operational challenges that make health, safety and environmental performance essential to everything we do.

  • We are looking for a proactive, NEBOSH, NVQ Level 3-qualified HSE Advisor who enjoys being where the action is. Working alongside our engineering, manufacturing and operational teams to create safer workplaces and drive meaningful improvements. Based primarily at our Leominster site - 4 days minimum, you will report into the HSE Manager and also support our wider Group operations, working closely with site leadership teams. This is an opportunity to take real ownership, influence positive change and see the impact of your work first-hand.

What You Will Be Doing

No two days will be quite the same. You will combine practical, on-the-ground HSE support with compliance, reporting and continuous improvement activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Championing safe working practices – working with operational teams to promote a positive, proactive safety culture across our sites.
  • Keeping us compliant – supporting adherence to UK health, safety and environmental legislation, internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying and reducing risks – conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments and internal audits, ensuring actions are followed through.
  • Investigating and learning from incidents – supporting investigations, identifying root causes and helping implement effective preventative measures.
  • Supporting management systems – contributing to external audits, ISO compliance and ongoing improvements to HSE processes and procedures.
  • Turning information into action – monitoring HSE performance, identifying trends and recommending practical improvements.
  • Engaging and educating colleagues – delivering toolbox talks, supporting training and helping teams understand their responsibilities.
  • Driving continuous improvement – supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM)-related HSE activities and wider improvement initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, approachable style and the confidence to influence people at all levels.
Essential:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Previous HSE experience within an engineering, manufacturing, production or workshop environment.
  • Sound working knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Practical experience conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence operational teams and management.
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to work independently.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites, with a minimum of three days per week based in Leominster.
  • Experience supporting HSE activities across multiple operational locations.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Experience preparing for or supporting internal and external audits.
  • Experience delivering toolbox talks, safety training or employee engagement initiatives.
  • Understanding of environmental management systems and compliance requirements.

Bring your expertise. Share your ideas. Help us make safety everyone's responsibility.

We would love to hear from you.
