Job summary

NOV is seeking an HSE Advisor to promote a positive Health, Safety and Environmental culture across our Great Yarmouth manufacturing operations. You will engage with employees, identify risk reduction opportunities, support investigations and drive HSE initiatives to maintain a compliant working environment.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in an HSE advisory role within manufacturing/industrial environments.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional Health, Safety and Environmental advice and support to managers and employees across multiple sites.
  • Promote a proactive HSE culture through coaching and engagement.
  • Conduct and review risk assessments and implement effective control measures.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Maintain and continuously improve HSE management systems (ISO 45001/14001).
  • Carry out workplace inspections, audits and HSE monitoring across sites.
  • Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and awareness training.
  • Assist with contractor management and safe systems of work.
  • Support environmental compliance activities and sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records and performance data.

About the Role

As an HSE Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting a positive Health, Safety and Environmental culture across our manufacturing operations in Great Yarmouth. Working closely with operational leaders and employees, you will provide expert HSE guidance, support legal compliance, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our Health, Safety and Environmental Management System.

Job Description

This is a hands‑on role where you'll spend time engaging with employees across multiple sites, identifying opportunities to reduce risk, supporting incident investigations, delivering HSE initiatives and helping to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies where required.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in an HSE advisory role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all organisational levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
  • IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management.
  • Experience delivering HSE training.
  • Experience within heavy engineering or similar industrial manufacturing environments.
