Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support our Consulting unit, managing a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK. Based in Glasgow with a hybrid working arrangement, you will attend the office three days per week and travel to client sites and other offices as required.

You will provide expert guidance on Health, Safety and Environmental performance, ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies and client requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) advisory and the ability to interpret legislation and manage risks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on HSE performance and compliance with legislation, policies, and client requirements.
  • Monitor HSE performance, lead incident investigations, analyse trends and develop improvement plans and KPIs.
  • Conduct site visits, support audits and inspections, deliver inductions and training.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and promote lessons learned across projects.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to maintain high HSE standards.

Based in our Glasgow office, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with employees expected to attend the office three days per week. The successful candidate will also be expected to travel to client sites, project locations, and other company offices as required.

The Role

As an HSE Advisor, you will provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental performance, ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies, management systems and client requirements. Working closely with managers, clients and project teams, you will support the delivery of a positive safety culture, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and help identify, prevent and mitigate business risks.

You will play a key role in monitoring HSE performance, leading incident investigations, analysing trends, developing improvement plans and KPIs, and promoting the sharing of lessons learned across projects. The role also involves conducting site visits, supporting audits and inspections, delivering inductions and training, coordinating emergency preparedness activities, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of HSE performance are maintained.
