Job summary

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is hiring for an HSDU Driver to support wards, clinics and external deliveries. The driver will maintain 3.5 ton vehicles, perform daily checks, and ensure vehicles are clean and fueled. Training will be provided for tug trucks and handling contaminated devices in line with HTM guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must hold a clean driving licence allowing operation of a 3.5 ton vehicle.
• Able to work as a lone worker and manage deliveries.
• Capable of daily vehicle checks and logging them for supervisor review.
• Must log vehicle information kept in the office and keep it updated.
• Willing to undertake external training before using tug trucks.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with wards, clinics and the public throughout the day.
• Maintain the vehicle with daily checks and log them for supervisor review.
• Keep vehicle clean and fueled at all times.
• Log vehicle-related information in the office.
• Carry out daily checks on tug trucks and undergo external training before use.
• Use good judgement when deliveries are on/off site or may be changed.
• Plan each day's activities to meet adhoc user requests.
• Assist in cleaning, packing and sterilising instruments as required.
• Inspect medical devices and equipment for cleanliness, function and completeness.
• Wrap instrumentation sets per HTM guidelines and department procedures.
