Job summary

Scottish Power is seeking a Performance & Improvement Analyst for a 12-month initial contract based in Glasgow with hybrid working (3 days in office). The role spans HR and Health & Safety, focusing on financial analysis, budgeting, and process improvement across multiple functions.

The candidate will lead improvement initiatives, support purchasing activities, and provide insights to senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a background in finance/operational roles, strong Excel

Qualifications

• Experience in a financial discipline or financial processes, systems and reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of SAP Financials.
• Experience in reporting and forecasting within a complex budget environment.
• Ability to analyse financial and operational data, explain variances and make recommendations.
• Involvement in process improvement and embedding revised ways of working.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience using Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate or comparable tools.
• Lean or continuous improvement qualification.

Responsibilities

• Own high-quality analysis of actual spend against forecast and budget, explaining variances and recommending action.
• Lead tracking and analysis of Learning and Pension budgets, identifying risks and cost pressures.
• Coordinate and consolidate budget/forecast submissions for external services and income.
• Develop monthly performance reporting for senior stakeholders.
• Support budget reduction and reallocation exercises with evidence-based recommendations.
• Map end-to-end processes and design improved future-state processes.
• Lead continuous improvement across HR and Health & Safety processes.
