The role
The HR Operations Advisor is responsible for overseeing all compliance aspects of the employee lifecycle, managing the HR information system as the point of contact for HR technical queries, and identifying and delivering improvements to operational processes.
This role represents the organization for new starters and sets the tone for their experience at Connected Places Catapult. It is responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently addressing queries from colleagues and managers.
The role is pivotal in ensuring colleagues are paid accurately and is the key contact with the finance team, responsible for ensuring HR operational processes deliver information in a timely and accurate manner.
- Responsible for accurate processing of all reward activities, in accordance with payroll and benefit provider schedules. Creating and maintaining team-level processes and improvements to ensure colleagues are paid accurately and on time. Working with the finance team to resolve queries.
- Ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available to all colleagues, responding to incoming queries to the HR Inbox, leading resolution and escalation where appropriate.
- Supporting managers with people management matters in line with legislation, policy, and procedures to support their development.
- Advising managers and employees on policies, procedures, terms, and conditions of employment, and legislation.
- Leading and contributing to ongoing improvements of HR initiatives, policies, and processes.
- Maintaining the Wellbeing Hub, coordinating cyclical events with relevant departments.
- Contributing to wider HR projects to ensure continuous development of a quality HR service across the business.
- Managing collation, input, and verification of all employee lifecycle information, owning and documenting processes for new starters, leavers, and job changes, with a focus on process improvement.
- Ensuring employee files and records are accurate, GDPR compliant, and up-to-date. Producing templates and correspondence to communicate and document changes to colleagues’ terms or roles.
- Processing all employee changes in the HR system and serving as the main contact for colleague queries. Regularly running system reports to ensure data accuracy.
- Maintaining the organisational chart, ensuring it is current and accurate.
- Supporting wider HR activities and undertaking additional duties as needed to support strategic objectives and operational effectiveness.
- Promoting an ethos of equity, inclusivity, and diversity in all activities, contributing to inclusive innovation.
- Performing any other reasonable duties to support the organization’s strategic outcomes and operational effectiveness.
Requirements include previous experience in an HR team with responsibility for HR records compliance and exceptional attention to detail, especially within a high-performing and friendly team. The candidate should be an experienced super-user of HRIS systems, proficient in back-end setup, change management, and optimization. Excellent customer service skills, the ability to prioritize a busy workload, awareness of legal data privacy obligations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. The role also requires a proactive problem-solving approach and credibility in representing HR to the business.
