Legal Southwest Ltd in East Devon is seeking an experienced HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor to join our growing team. You will work closely with the Head of HR, oversee the full employee lifecycle, and provide high-quality HR guidance across the firm in a supportive, professional environment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years’ experience in an HR advisory role.
• Experience within a law firm or professional services environment is advantageous.
• CIPD qualification or working towards qualification (Level 5 or above) preferred.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to liaise at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding and performance management.
• Providing professional HR advice to managers on employee relations, grievances and conflict resolution.
• Developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies in line with current UK employment legislation.
• Supporting compensation, benefits and employee reward strategies.
• Attending meetings and taking minutes; managing internal communications relating to starters and leavers.
• Working closely with the Head of HR to support the firm’s ongoing growth and development.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor to join a well-established and growing law firm based in East Devon.

The firm has an excellent reputation and prides itself on providing a supportive, professional and collaborative working environment, with a strong emphasis on employee development and career progression.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced HR professional to work closely with the Head of HR and wider HR team, providing a responsive, high-quality HR advisory service across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding and performance management.
• Supporting and promoting a positive workplace culture, employee engagement and wellbeing.
• Providing professional HR advice to managers on employee relations, grievances and conflict resolution.
• Developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies in line with current UK employment legislation.
• Supporting compensation, benefits and employee reward strategies.
• Attending meetings and taking minutes where required.
• Managing internal communications relating to new starters and leavers.
• Working closely with the Head of HR to support the firm’s ongoing growth and development.

Skills and Experience Required

• A minimum of two years’ experience in an HR advisory role.
• Previous experience within a law firm or professional services environment would be advantageous.
• Ideally CIPD qualified or working towards qualification, with Level 5 or above preferred.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence communicating at all levels.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
• Ability to work independently, using initiative and sound judgement.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
