Job summary

Compass Associates are partnering with a reputable education and care provider in the Midlands to recruit an HR Manager. The role leads day-to-day HR, including learning & development, recruitment and employee relations, partnering with operational leaders to implement people initiatives and policy discipline.

Based in Stoke-on-Trent, the post is interim with a view to permanent, requiring CIPD qualifications and senior HR experience to drive engagement and develop a high-performing HR function

Qualifications

• CIPD qualification (or working towards) and experience in a senior HR role.
• Experience across HR functions with oversight of multiple areas.
• Strong stakeholder management and credibility across the organisation.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to deliver the people strategy and ensure consistent HR policies and employment law.
• Provide commercially focused HR support and advice across the full employee lifecycle.
• Lead end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning.
• Build relationships with hiring managers to attract and retain high-quality talent.
• Manage complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance cases.
• Lead learning and development initiatives, performance reviews and succession planning.
• Drive employee engagement, wellbeing and organisational development initiatives.
• Produce HR reports and insights to support workforce planning and decision-making.
• Lead and develop the HR team, including Recruitment, Learning & Development, HR Administration and Employee Relations.
• Continuously improve HR processes, policies and systems to enhance service delivery and employee experience.
