Michael Page HR is partnering with a successful FMCG business in Frome to recruit an experienced HR Manager. You will drive people initiatives, support senior leaders, and operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will lead all aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensure compliance, support managers, and cultivate an engaged, high-performing workforce across the site in Somerset.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR Manager/Senior HR Advisor/HR Business Partner roles.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations and employment law.
• Confident influencing stakeholders at all levels.
• CIPD qualification preferred or working towards.
• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing or similar operational environment.
• Strong generalist HR knowledge across full employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters (discipline, grievances, capability, absence).
• Coach managers on people management best practices.
• Drive recruitment to attract and retain top talent.
• Manage onboarding, training and development initiatives.
• Ensure HR policies comply with employment legislation.
• Lead employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
• Oversee performance management processes.
• Analyse HR metrics to support decision-making.
• Support organisational change and continuous improvement projects.

Our client is a successful and growing FMCG business in Frome who are looking for an experienced HR Manager who can drive people initiatives while supporting a fast-paced operational environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys partnering with senior leaders, managing complex employee relations matters, and helping to create a positive and high-performing culture.

The Role:

As HR Manager, you will report into the Head of HR and partner closely with senior management and operational teams to support business objectives through effective people strategies. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong HR generalist with experience operating in a fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environment.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance, supporting managers, and helping to build an engaged and productive workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, capability, and absence management.
• Support and coach managers on people management best practices.
• Drive recruitment activities to attract and retain top talent.
• Manage onboarding, training, and development initiatives.
• Ensure HR policies and procedures remain compliant with employment legislation.
• Lead employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
• Oversee performance management processes.
• Analyse HR metrics and provide insight to support business decision‑making.
• Support organisational change and continuous improvement projects.

Profile

A successful HR Manager should have:

• Previous experience in a HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner role
• Strong ER and employment law knowledge
• Confident influencing stakeholders at all levels
• CIPD qualified (or working towards) preferred
• Experience within FMCG, Manufacturing, Engineering or a similar operational environment is highly desirable
• Strong generalist HR knowledge across the full employee lifecycle.
