Job summary

Tata Steel Corby is seeking an HR Manager to lead the HR function at the Corby site. The role requires strong experience in a unionised environment, end-to-end HR processes, and capability to drive change across the business. You will coordinate with manufacturing leaders and manage on-site HR cases.

Key duties include policy guidance, stakeholder support, and workforce development, with travel to other sites as needed. Competitive salary and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Degree (HR) and/or CIPD membership levels 5 or 7 required.
• Experience supporting in excess of 300 FTE on site.
• Standalone HR role experience (3+ years) in a unionised environment.
• Proven employee relations and end-to-end HR process knowledge.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Act as SMEs for Manufacturing Leaders and lead HR initiatives.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders on HR policies and practices.
• Propose business strategies to align HR with business needs.
• Be the main on-site HR contact for HR cases and processes.
• Lead organisational change, consultations and redeployments.
• Develop the workforce and coach stakeholders for leadership growth.

You could be the seasoned HR professional that Tata Steel Corby is looking for. The successful applicant will be personable, a team builder and leads from the front. Experience with consultations, restructures, redeployment and change management is vital.

Role: HR Manager

Location: TATA Steel, Weldon Rd, Corby NN17 5UA

The requirement to travel to other sites Nationwide as needed

Salary: Competitive, Inside IR35 (based upon experience)

Hours: Mon-Fri, standard office hours

Start: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical assessment. (This does include a drug and alcohol test)

Responsibilities:

• Playing a pivotal part in the Organisations HR team and acting as a subject matter expert for Manufacturing Leaders
• Providing guidance and support to stakeholders to ensure HR polices and practices are followed accordingly
• Proposding business strategies to compliment business needs
• Acting as the main point of contact on site for HR cases
• Assessing and recommending organisational change as required with evidence presented
• Providing leadership to develop the workforce at the works
• Providing expertise on employee relations matters, organisational change, consultations, restructures, redeployment and change management
• Coaching and developing stakeholders within the business to maximise their leadership capability
• Working with talent acquisition and management to maintain, then grow the workforce
• Degree (HR) and/or CIPD holder (Levels 5 or 7)
• CIPD membership (Associate and above)
• Substantial experience supporting in excess of 300 FTE (on site)
• Experience working in a standalone HR role (3+years)
• Remote case advisor experience (advantageous)
• Proven experience within change management
• Prior experience supporting in a HR role within a Unionised environment
• Solid employee consultation and confidence with the end to end process
• Approachable persona and ability to handle confidential information at all times
• Strong verbal and written communication skill
• Good IT literacy skill, especially MS office and HR systems
• A commercial mindset with the ability to also maintain high ethical standards
