Job summary

Parker Meggitt is seeking an HR Specialist to provide proactive HR support at our UK site. The role focuses on employee relations, coaching managers, and applying HR policies in line with UK employment law.

You will partner with leaders to drive performance, manage payroll end to end, and ensure GDPR-compliant record-keeping. A CIPD or related qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience handling employee relations and end-to-end change management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment and selection process in cooperation with Talent Acquisition.
  • Provide ongoing HR system support to managers.
  • Advise line managers on performance management and feedback to restore performance.
  • Manage long-term absences and implement reasonable adjustments.
  • Oversee all aspects of terminations and various leave types.
  • Support change management activities such as restructurings and redundancies.
  • Provide first line HR support to supervisors and managers.
  • Collaborate with the HR HPT to improve processes and action plans.
  • Manage payroll from start to finish.
  • Keep employee records compliant with GDPR and ISO 9001 standards.

Summary
Position Summary

The HR Specialist will provide proactive, practical HR support to leaders and colleagues at the Loughborough site. This role focuses on employee relations, coaching managers, and ensuring HR policies and processes are applied consistently, fairly, and in line with UK employment legislation. They are acting as a trusted advisor, balancing a people-first approach with strong commercial awareness.

Responsibilities
  • Support the recruitment and selection process and ensure correct approval is obtained in cooperation with Talent Acquisition.
  • Provide ongoing support to managers for using HR systems proficiently.
  • Advise line managers on performance management issues with a focus on establishing standards of performance and effective feedback and monitoring in order to assist individuals return to an effective performance level.
  • Manage all long term absence cases using effective methods and implementing reasonable adjustments to ensure the timely return of employees to work where possible.
  • Manage all aspects of employee terminations and short or long term absences including maternity leave, special leave etc.
  • Support change management activities such as restructuring and redundancies.
  • First line support for supervisors and managers where required, including resolution and/or escalation of issues where appropriate.
  • Work as an active member of the HR HPT to continuously improve what we do and how we do it and support the development of action plans.
  • Manage Payroll from start to finish.
  • Ensure all necessary employee records and systems are kept up to date and maintained to the standard required by the legislation including the GDPR and other relevant standards e.g. ISO 9001.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a full Generalist HR role, preferably within a matrix environment, qualified in HR, Business or Management discipline or by CIPD certification (or working towards) or equivalent in experience.
  • Working knowledge of UK employment law and GDPR legislation.
  • Experience of handling employee relations and change management processes end to end.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build good working relationships at all levels within the organisation.
  • Innovative, continuous improvement mindset.
  • Structured approach with strong planning and organisational skills.
