Job description

Who We Are...

SPORTFIVE is a global agency working across sponsorships, advertising, talent, activation and hospitality within sports. Globally, we have over 1,200 employees who strategically and creatively connect brands, rights-holders, media platforms and fans across Football, F1, NFL, NBA, Golf, Esports, Olympics, and more.

Having been voted the No.1 most attractive sports marketing agency to work for three consecutive years, as well as featuring in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work, we’re incredibly proud of our culture and the people that help to nurture it. If you want to help shape the future of the sports industry, then we want to hear from you.

YOUR NEW JOB…

We are looking for an HR Coordinator to join our HR team in Altrincham, Cheshire. This is a hands-on, varied role providing essential support across recruitment, HR systems, data management, payroll administration and wider HR processes, helping to ensure smooth and effective HR operations for SPORTFIVE UK.

While SPORTFIVE is a large global business, the UK operates with the pace, breadth and agility of a growing SME. You’ll be part of a lean HR team of three, supporting over 130 employees across Altrincham, London and Haydock. We work quickly, hold high standards and support a broad range of HR and L&D activity, so you’ll need to enjoy being involved, managing a varied to-do list and helping make things happen.

Our key HR processes, systems and administrative foundations are already well established, creating an opportunity to review how we work today, identify efficiencies and support improvements that help our HR service continue to evolve.

Reporting to the HR Director and working closely with the HR Business Partner, this role would suit a proactive HR professional who is highly organised, detail-focused, confident with process ownership, and able to gather and present information clearly and creatively.

Please note that this is a full-time role & you must be eligible to work in the UK.

AS OUR HR CO-ORDINATOR, YOU WILL...

Enjoy being visible, hands-on and close to the business. Our HR team works directly with managers and employees across all locations. With a mature, talented and professional workforce, our focus is less on reactive employee relations and more on adding value supporting change, improving structure, attracting strong talent, building an inclusive and respectful culture, and helping our people and teams continue to grow.

  • Be the go-to person for HR information, systems and data, including day-to-day ownership of our HR and recruitment system, currently SAP.
  • Support recruitment for a range of senior, specialist and niche roles, working with managers to run an efficient process and deliver a positive candidate experience that reflects our employer brand.
  • Own key employee lifecycle administration, including contracts, contractual changes, onboarding, offboarding, benefits and first-line HR queries.
  • Administer monthly UK payroll, working closely with our payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely processing, and support annual pay review administration.
  • Co-ordinate and help improve key HR processes, including performance management, family leave, absence administration and employee records, ensuring information is accurate, confidential and GDPR compliant.
  • Prepare and present HR data, KPIs and people metrics in a clear and visually engaging way.
  • Develop and maintain the HR SharePoint site as a central source of employee information, while supporting wider HR communications, materials and trackers.
  • Support L&D activity and contribute ideas to local UK and global HR initiatives, including EDI, Employee Forum, Women’s Network, Social Events Forum, Reward and Recognition, Employer Branding and Social Responsibility.
Skills, Knowledge, Expertise
  • Experience in a similar HR role, providing customer-focused support and handling a broad range of employee and manager queries.
  • CIPD qualification, working towards CIPD, or a clear interest in developing your HR knowledge and practice.
  • Strong HR systems, process and data management experience, with confidence reviewing ways of working, streamlining processes and supporting system or provider changes.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to manage sensitive information accurately, confidentially and in line with GDPR and relevant employment law requirements.
  • Recruitment experience, including supporting end-to-end campaigns for senior, specialist or niche roles and working closely with hiring managers.
  • Experience administering payroll with an outsourced provider, with strong numerical accuracy and an understanding of key payroll requirements.
  • Highly organised and able to manage a varied workload across different priorities, systems and workstreams.
  • Strong technical skills, including MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, mail merges, HR systems and creative tools such as Canva, with the ability to extract, check and present data clearly.
  • Confident communicator, able to produce well-structured written materials and engaging visual information appropriate for different audiences and scenarios, including letters, emails, policies, procedures and employee communications.
  • General knowledge and appreciation of employment law and its impact in relation to our obligations for data management and security.
  • Proactive, flexible and team-oriented, with the confidence to be visible across the business, work effectively in a global organisation and stay curious about HR best practice.

SPORTFIVE are proud to be an equal opportunities employer. We believe that different perspectives and experiences are the key to success. Our goal is to create an authentic and attractive work environment where everyone feels valued, with a sense of belonging, and encouraged to shape the future of the sports industry.
