Job description

Role summary:

Reporting to the Company’s HR Director, the HR Business Partner will be responsible for providing strategic HR support and guidance to employees and management across the functional areas of GB News. The HR Business Partner will take a proactive approach to employee relations, staying ahead of changing legislation to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Additionally, they will support the HR Director to achieve business objectives and develop HR strategies and initiatives that support the achievement of organisational goals. The HR Business Partner will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, support change initiatives, and manage HR projects to drive performance, engagement, and growth.

Key responsibilities and main tasks:

  • Support with HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business goals.
  • Facilitate and deliver training and workshops to managers across the business.
  • Partner with management and functional areas to understand their strategic priorities and develop HR strategies and initiatives that support these priorities.
  • Provide HR guidance, coaching, mentorship and support to managers on a range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, talent development, and organisational change.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide HR data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance organisational effectiveness, including, change management, and team development.
  • Implement and update HR policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with company values and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement surveys, talent reviews, succession planning, and equal opportunities.
  • Propose opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within the HR operation.
  • Mentor and coach the HR Administrators, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop in their roles.

What you will bring to GB News:

  • Degree in Human Resources, business administration, or a related field/CIPD level 5 minimum/ or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a HR Business Partner or in a similar strategic HR role. Minimum of at least 5 years in HR.
  • Good knowledge of HR policies and procedures and employment law.
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence, coach and support managers across the business.
  • Confident in challenging difficult stakeholders and have the ability to provide comprehensive and timely advice.
  • Proven experience managing employee relations issues and organisational changes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.
