Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to work with a local council in Wakefield. This full-time role involves providing HR advice on employee relations, supporting organizational changes, and ensuring compliance with legislation. IDEAL candidates will possess a CIPD qualification and have previous experience in a public sector environment. The position offers a temporary contract for 6 months, working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as an HR Business Partner.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience within a local authority or public sector environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance across a range of employee relations matters.
  • Partner with senior managers to support organisational change and restructuring.
  • Support managers with complex casework including absence management and disciplinary issues.
  • Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures.
  • Analyse workforce data and provide insight for decision-making.
  • Promote positive employee relations and support wellbeing initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and local authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance across a range of employee relations matters
  • Partner with senior managers to support organisational change, restructures and workforce planning
  • Support managers with complex casework including absence management, disciplinary, grievance and capability issues
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and best practice
  • Analyse workforce data and provide insight to inform decision-making
  • Promote positive employee relations and support wellbeing and engagement initiatives
  • Ensure HR practices comply with employment legislation and local authority requirements
About You
  • Proven experience working as an HR Business Partner
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment is highly desirable
  • CIPD Qualified
