Responsibilities

  • Provide expert HR advice on policies, procedures, conditions of service, employee relations, and equality, diversity and inclusion matters.
  • Coach and support managers through complex employee relations issues, ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
  • Interpret and apply employment law to develop practical, compliant policies and practices; communicate these to staff and deliver training as required.
  • Build effective partnerships with service managers, aligning HR support with corporate priorities and workforce planning needs.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the People Strategy and annual People Plan.
  • Lead on HR projects that support corporate priorities and draft HR reports for committees and senior leadership.
  • Advise on recruitment campaigns, developing inclusive attraction and selection methods and effective on-boarding strategies.
  • Provide case management support in areas such as performance management, discipline and grievance, succession planning, talent management, pay and reward, sickness, reasonable adjustments, and settlement agreements.
  • Provide HR leadership on restructures, redundancy processes, and TUPE transfers, ensuring fair consultation and legal compliance, negotiating with recognised trade unions where required.
  • Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of corporate training and apprenticeship programmes based on needs analysis.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and provide workforce analytics to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Develop and promote staff wellbeing initiatives and engagement activities.
  • Provide supervision and support to HR Advisers and Administrators, including coaching and task oversight.
