Job summary

CMap Group is seeking an experienced HR Advisor for our Manchester office. You’ll be the go-to HR expert reporting to the HR Manager, covering the full employee lifecycle in a fast-growing software business.

You’ll coach managers, lead employee relations end to end, and shape policies, change initiatives, and people analytics. This role is ideal for a generalist who wants real involvement in how the business runs and values collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Generalist HR experience across the full employee lifecycle.
• Experience leading ER processes yourself.
• Solid working knowledge of UK employment law.
• Commercial awareness: HR supports business performance.
• Empathy, emotional intelligence and collaborative approach.
• CIPD Level 5 is a bonus, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead employee relations cases end to end: performance, probation, absence, grievance and disciplinary.
• Coach managers to handle difficult conversations and own the people side of their roles.
• Keep HR policies clear, current and compliant with legislation.
• Shape how we work through change management and organisation design.
• Turn HR data into insight for the Management Team.
• Help shape management training, competency frameworks and appraisals.
• Contribute to culture, engagement and internal comms.
