Job description

HR Advisor - Manufacturing - 6 month FTC

Are you an experienced HR generalist looking for an exciting role in a dynamic organisation?

MCS Group is recruiting an experienced HR Advisor for a leading local Manufacturing organisation, on an initial fixed-term 6month contract.

The role

As HR Advisor, you'll support employees across all areas of the organisation, providing practical, people-focused advice within a centralised HR team. This fixed-term role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of employment practices and a hands-on approach to building a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

The main responsibilities

  • Offer advice and support to staff and management in managing workplace concerns and resolving conflicts, ensuring alignment with company policies and employment legislation. Carry out investigations where necessary and suggest appropriate actions.
  • Support recruitment by helping with job adverts, candidate screening, and interview coordination, aiming for an efficient and cost-effective process. Assist new starters with onboarding to ensure a seamless introduction to the organisation.
  • Work alongside managers to set and monitor performance improvement plans. Help design and roll out performance appraisal systems, offering guidance to aid staff development and progression.
  • Assess organisational training requirements and design relevant learning programmes, fostering a culture that values continuous professional growth.
  • Design and implement strategies that enhance employee morale, engagement, and retention, including staff recognition initiatives.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across all areas of the business, including hiring, internal progression, and policy development, supporting the creation of an inclusive environment.
  • Ensure organisational policies are up to date with employment legislation and reflect company values, assisting in drafting and maintaining HR guidelines and procedures.
  • Gather, analyse, and interpret HR-related data to spot patterns and drive improvements. Maintain data accuracy in line with Data Protection rules and offer administrative support across the employee lifecycle - from job offers to exit processes, including flexible working, family leave, long service, and employee relations.

The ideal candidate

  • Experience in an HR generalist role within a similar industry.
  • Experience handling all HR functions, including ER cases.
  • Multi-jurisdictional employment law knowledge.
  • CIPD or relevant degree.
