Leigh Academies Trust is seeking a practical, proactive People Advisor to join our Central Services People team, stepping up from a People Officer role with autonomy and impact.

You will partner with People Partners to deliver HR advice, handle ER casework, manage iTrent data, payroll changes, and support organisational change including TUPE. This maternity cover role offers a stable hours schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in an HR advisory or senior officer role with knowledge of UK employment law.
• Experience managing HRIS platforms and ticketing systems.
• Ability to provide objective, plain-English advice to managers with a human-centred approach.
• Strong attention to detail in payroll updates and data management.
• Proactive team player committed to equity, diversity and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality HR advisory support to line managers and staff.
• Guide managers through ER casework and support hearing chairs with guidance and reports.
• Maintain accurate HR data in iTrent and manage payroll-impacting changes.
• Produce and analyse absence, turnover and trend reports to inform interventions.
• Support staff recognition programs and signpost wellbeing resources.
• Assist with organisational change, restructures and TUPE processes.
