Job summary

Christie & Co is seeking a People & Development Advisor to join on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover and HR generalist services across the business. You will deliver high-quality HR support to managers and employees, handling ER cases and contributing to strategic projects with the People & Development Business Partner.

You’ll engage in payroll-related processes, HR reporting, and ensure compliance with employment law while supporting performance reviews, salary reviews,

Qualifications

• Degree-level or equivalent required.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification required.
• Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Officer essential.
• Exposure to absence, disciplinary and grievance handling essential.
• Solid understanding of employment law essential.
• Strong Excel and Word skills essential.
• Experience using an HR system desirable.
• Experience managing end-to-end payroll desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational HR support liaising with managers and employees.
• Advise on employment law, policies and procedures.
• Manage ER cases including performance, disciplinary and grievances.
• Support annual HR processes including performance reviews, promotions and salary reviews.
• Support managers with training and development plans.
• Manage parental leave processes.
• Support absence management, including sickness and phased returns.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Provide HR reports.
• Support payroll data submission to external payroll bureau.
• Manage Health and Safety compliance day-to-day with local reps.
• Assist in People-related project work for the People & Development Director.
