Huntress – Bracknell is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our client’s busy team on a temporary basis. You will provide hands-on HR support and first-line advice to employees and line managers, with a strong focus on employee relations.

This generalist role requires up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law, ability to manage multiple cases, and a practical, solutions-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience as HR Advisor or HR Generalist.
  • Knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Ability to advise managers on day-to-day employee relations matters.
  • Proactive and organised with multiple cases and priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Discretion handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for day-to-day HR queries from employees and managers.
  • Provide advice on performance, attendance, absence, capability and conduct matters.
  • Support investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes with proper documentation.
  • Advise on probation reviews and extensions, with appropriate steps.
  • Coordinate Occupational Health referrals and long-term sickness/return-to-work cases.
  • HR support across onboarding, contractual changes and leavers.
  • Manage Right to Work checks and DBS-related queries.
  • Assist managers with employee relations and escalate complex cases.
  • Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Provide a responsive, solutions-focused HR service in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our clients busy team on a temporary basis, providing hands-on HR support and first-line advice to employees and line managers.

This is a varied, generalist HR role with a strong focus on employee relations. You will support managers with day-to-day people matters, helping them navigate HR processes confidently while ensuring policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently.

Job Title: HR Advisor

Location: Winnersh

Hourly rate: Up to 18.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries from employees and managers
  • Provide practical advice on performance, attendance, absence, capability and conduct matters
  • Support managers through investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to procedures
  • Advise on probation reviews and extensions, including appropriate documentation and next steps
  • Coordinate Occupational Health referrals and support long-term sickness, return-to-work cases and workplace adjustments
  • Provide HR support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contractual changes and leavers
  • Manage Right to Work checks, DBS-related queries and associated compliance requirements
  • Support managers with employee relations matters, escalating complex or sensitive cases where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and HR documentation
  • Provide a responsive, professional and solutions-focused HR service in a fast-paced environment
About You
  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or HR Generalist role
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
  • Confident advising and supporting managers on day-to-day employee relations matters
  • Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build relationships at all levels
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when managing employee records, case documentation and compliance
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent practical HR experience would be advantageous
