Job summary

CMA HR Recruitment is partnering with a leading engineering business in Portsmouth to recruit an HR Advisor on a temporary to permanent basis. The role sits in a busy manufacturing environment and involves broad responsibilities across recruitment, onboarding, ER, payroll and reporting.

The ideal candidate will be CIPD Level 5 qualified, with strong knowledge of UK employment law and excellent stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a generalist HR advisory role.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Confident handling employee relations matters and supporting managers.
• Experience with HR systems and producing HR reports.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Manufacturing/engineering exposure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers and employees across the business.
• Support the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, ER, absence management and offboarding.
• Advise on performance management, disciplinary and grievance matters, ensuring best practice and compliance with employment legislation.
• Maintain accurate HR records, systems and reporting data.
• Assist with payroll administration and ensure data integrity.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and wellbeing activities.
• Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
