Job summary

The GORSE Academies Trust is seeking an enthusiastic HR Advisor to join our Central HR Team. You will provide expert guidance to managers, support employee relations casework, oversee recruitment activities and help drive wellbeing and organisational development.

You will work with the HR Director and HR Business Partners, focusing on catering function support including recruitment, probation, sickness absence and appraisal processes while upholding high professional standards across the trust.

Qualifications

  • Holds or is working towards a Level 5 HR qualification, ideally CIPD.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and people management processes.
  • Experience advising managers and handling employee relations casework.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance across a wide range of employee matters.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities across the trust.
  • Assist with employee relations cases including attendance, disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes.
  • Produce and analyse HR data to support informed decision-making.
  • Support learning, development and organisational change initiatives.
  • Promote employee wellbeing, engagement and positive workplace culture.
  • Help ensure HR compliance, consistency and best practice across the trust.
  • Lead with strong communication and maintain high professional standards.

Job description

The Gorse Academies Trust ("GORSE") are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and people-focused HR Advisor to join our highly regarded Central HR Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a collaborative and supportive HR function, supporting colleagues across our establishments and ensuring that our people remain at the heart of everything we do. As a trusted HR professional, you will provide expert advice and guidance to managers, support employee relations casework, oversee key recruitment activities and help drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing and organisational development. Whilst supporting colleagues across the Trust, the successful candidate will have a particular focus on providing HR support to the Trust's catering function, including recruitment, probation, sickness absence and appraisal processes. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration and making a positive impact

About the Role

Working closely with the HR Director, Assistant Director of HR, HR Business Partners and school leaders, you will:

  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance across a wide range of employee matters.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities across the trust.
  • Assist with employee relations cases, including attendance, disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes.
  • Produce and analyse HR data to support informed decision-making.
  • Support learning, development and organisational change initiatives.
  • Promote employee wellbeing, engagement and positive workplace culture.
  • Help ensure HR compliance, consistency and best practice across the trust.
  • Holds, or is working towards, a Level 5 HR qualification, ideally CIPD.
  • Has significant experience in an HR advisory, coordinator or similar HR role.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of employment legislation, HR best practice and people management processes.
  • Is highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Is confident working with HR systems, data and reporting tools, including Excel.
  • Can handle sensitive information with discretion, professionalism and integrity.
