Job description

St Paul’s Girls’ School – an extraordinary and historic institution focused on nurturing creativity, curiosity, and a love of academic discovery – is seeking a proactive, enthusiastic and solutions-focused HR Advisor to bring new ideas and influence how the School works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a varied caseload of people matters such as sickness absence, performance concerns, conduct issues, grievances and disciplinaries, ensuring casework is recorded accurately and progressed in a timely, well-structured way.
  • Providing clear, practical guidance to managers, helping them understand policies and make fair decisions in line with legislation, and supporting the HR Manager on complex or sensitive cases.
  • Preparing and quality assuring case documentation, such as investigation reports, hearing packs and outcome letters.
  • Supporting the HR Manager in reviewing and updating HR policies and applying them consistently.
  • Contributing to improvement plans and strategy work that enhance the staff experience and strengthen organisational culture.
  • Delivering targeted training sessions, briefings or bitesize learning materials for managers.
  • Working with the HR Manager to produce regular reports, trackers and updates for the Head of HR to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Using HR systems and digital tools confidently to keep case records accurate and up to date and supporting the HR Manager with the rollout of new digital tools, templates or processes.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience within an HR function.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities without compromising on accuracy.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • CIPD qualified or working towards this.
  • Experience within a school or regulated setting (desirable).

Hours
