Job summary

Glue Resourcing Limited is recruiting an experienced HR Advisor in Northampton for a hands-on generalist role supporting the HR Manager and wider team. You will contribute across the full employee lifecycle, delivering practical HR advice and ownership of key processes.

The role covers day-to-day HR support, ER cases, payroll coordination, onboarding and training coordination, with a focus on compliant, proactive HR delivery.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent practical HR experience.
• Experience providing HR advice to managers and employees.
• Solid understanding of UK employment law and its application.
• Experience handling employee relations processes (absence, disciplinary, grievances, performance).
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

The Opportunity

We are supporting a well-established Northampton-based business that is looking to appoint an experienced HR Advisor to join its growing HR team.

This is a hands-on, generalist HR role, working closely with the HR Manager and wider HR team to provide a high-quality HR service across the business.

You will have the opportunity to get involved across the full employee lifecycle, providing practical HR advice and support to both managers and employees while taking ownership of a range of HR processes and initiatives.

The Role

• Providing day-to-day HR advice, guidance and support to managers and employees across a broad range of people matters.
• Supporting employee relations (ER) cases, including absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures, performance management and wellbeing matters.
• Providing advice and support in line with company policies, procedures and current UK employment legislation.
• Coordinating payroll processes, ensuring accurate information is collated and submitted within agreed deadlines.
• Responding to payroll-related queries and working closely with relevant internal teams.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation, ensuring compliance with company requirements and legislation.
• Managing the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all pre-employment and new starter documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Supporting a positive employee experience from the moment a new employee joins the business.
• Maintaining training and development records and supporting the coordination and delivery of learning and development activities.
• Taking ownership of key HR processes and projects, working independently while contributing to the wider HR team's objectives.
• Supporting the HR Manager with wider HR initiatives and continuous improvement across the business.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and resilient HR professional who is comfortable working in a hands-on generalist HR environment.

• CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent practical HR experience gained within a generalist HR environment.
• Previous experience providing HR advice and support to managers and employees.
• A sound understanding of UK employment legislation and its practical application in the workplace.
• Experience supporting employee relations processes, including absence, disciplinary, grievance and performance matters.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• A proactive and resilient approach, with the confidence to deal with challenging and sometimes sensitive situations.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership, while also being a strong team player.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.
• A practical, commercial and solutions-focused approach to HR.
