Job summary

TurnerFox Recruitment in Mansfield is seeking a personable HR Advisor to join our busy HR function. You will support the full employee journey, from application to employment, and handle a wide range of HR tasks with accuracy and discretion.

You'll work closely with line managers and staff to keep HR processes compliant and people-focused, juggling priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Background in HR admin, coordinator or generalist capacity.
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards one).
  • Solid grasp of HR practices and UK employment law.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Help run recruitment activity and ensure candidates have a smooth journey from application to job offer.
  • Organise pre-start paperwork, onboarding schedules and induction plans for new joiners.
  • Carry out right-to-work verification and other compliance checks.
  • Keep HR systems and employee files accurate and up to date.
  • Draft HR paperwork such as letters, records and meeting summaries.
  • Provide admin support during disciplinary meetings, grievance hearings and investigations, including note-taking and filing.
  • Help refine and improve HR policies and workflows over time.
  • Get involved in broader HR team projects as they come up.
  • Make sure everything you do stays aligned with UK employment law and internal policy.
  • Act as a helpful, reliable point of contact for managers and staff with HR queries.

We're on the lookout for a switched-on, detail-driven HR Advisor to join our busy HR function. If you enjoy variety, keep a cool head when things get hectic, and genuinely care about giving employees a great experience, this could be a great fit.

You'll be involved across the whole employee journey -from the moment someone applies, through their first days on the job, right up to handling more sensitive HR matters and supporting broader people initiatives. You'll work hand-in-hand with line managers and staff throughout the business to keep HR processes running smoothly, staying compliant and people-first at every step.

The role of HR Advisor will involve:

  • CIPD qualification (or working towards one)
  • A solid grasp of HR practices and UK employment law
  • Great people skills - you communicate clearly and build trust easily
  • A methodical, well-structured way of working
  • Sharp attention to detail and strong admin capability
  • Comfort juggling several priorities while hitting deadlines
  • Good judgement and a practical approach to solving problems
  • A track record of handling confidential information responsibly
