Job summary

A leading public sector client is seeking a People Adviser for a 6-month contract based in Edinburgh, offering a hybrid work model. The successful candidate will manage complex HR casework according to UK employment law and provide practical HR advice to managers. They should be CIPD qualified with experience in employee relations, recruitment, and HR advisory. This role is pivotal in fostering a collaborative workplace culture and leading inclusive recruitment efforts. The position offers a 37-hour work week, reducing to 35 hours in March 2026.

Qualifications

  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent) with solid UK employment law knowledge.
  • Experienced in employee relations, recruitment, and HR advisory.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and digital skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex HR casework to resolution in line with UK employment law.
  • Provide autonomous, practical advice to managers and MSPs across all HR policies.
  • Lead inclusive recruitment campaigns, from job design to selection.
  • Build strong relationships and foster a collaborative, inclusive culture.
