Job summary

Roundhouse Recruitment Limited is seeking a hands-on HPLC Field Service Engineer to service and fault-find HPLC, LC and UHPLC systems across pharmaceutical and analytical laboratories.

This field-based role covers the South of England with UK travel, overnight stays and occasional European trips; specialist training and progression are on offer.

You will support multi-vendor chromatography equipment and broaden knowledge to GC, LC‑MS, spectroscopy and related analytical instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on HPLC/LC/UHPLC service and fault-finding experience.
• Field-based role requiring UK travel and full driving licence.
• Experience with Waters, Agilent, Shimadzu, Thermo Fisher or similar equipment advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, fault-find and repair HPLC, LC and UHPLC systems
• Install, commission and calibrate analytical laboratory instrumentation
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Support chromatography equipment including GC, LC-MS and GC-MS
• Work with spectroscopy equipment, laboratory gas generators and wider analytical instrumentation
• Provide technical support and equipment training to customers
• Work autonomously across a regional field-service territory
• Complete service reports and technical documentation
• Regular UK travel, overnight stays and occasional European travel

Field Based - South of England / Some UK Travel
Are you a Field Service Engineer with hands‑on HPLC / LC servicing experience looking to join a growing specialist within analytical instrumentation known for their great working environment and employee benefits?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a small and expanding technical service team supporting customers across pharmaceutical, scientific and analytical laboratory environments. You will work autonomously across a varied portfolio of chromatography and laboratory instrumentation, with opportunities to develop your knowledge across GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, spectroscopy and wider analytical technologies.
This is a field‑based role covering primarily the South of England, alongside wider UK travel when required. Overnight stays will form part of the position, with occasional European travel.

The Role:

• Service, maintain, fault‑find and repair HPLC, LC and UHPLC systems

The Person:

• Hands‑on HPLC, LC or UHPLC service, maintenance and fault‑finding experience
• Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or analytical instrumentation background
• Experience with Waters, Agilent, Shimadzu, Thermo Fisher, PerkinElmer or similar equipment advantageous
• GC, LC‑MS, GC‑MS, spectroscopy or laboratory gas‑generator experience advantageous
• Comfortable working independently and travelling regularly
• Full UK driving licence
