Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Temporary Housing Support Worker in Cornwall to provide person-centred support to adults facing homelessness and related challenges. You will manage a caseload, help residents build independence and assist with budgeting and accessing services.

The role requires empathy, reliability and strong communication, with duties including assessments, support planning and safeguarding, within a collaborative housing team.

Qualifications

• Empathy and reliability in supporting residents with complex needs.
• Experience completing support plans, risk assessments and case records.
• Good knowledge of housing and tenancy-related issues.
• Experience supporting people with benefits, budgeting or financial difficulties.
• Driver with access to a car.
• Good IT and written communication skills.

Temporary Housing Support Worker

Location: Cornwall
Contract: 2 - 5 months +
Hours: 37 per week.
Hourly rate: £12.71 - £13.45
On-call supplement: £105 per week when participating in the rota

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Housing Support Worker to join a well-established supported housing service in Cornwall on a temporary basis.
The service provides accommodation and support to adults who may have experienced homelessness, substance misuse and mild to moderate mental health difficulties, including anxiety and depression.
You will work as part of a supportive and established team, helping residents develop the skills, confidence and stability they need to move towards greater independence.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is empathetic, approachable and enjoys building positive relationships with people who may have complex needs.

About the role

You will manage a caseload of approximately 7-8 residents, providing practical and person-centred support.

We are looking for someone who is empathetic, reliable and confident working with people who may have experienced significant challenges in their lives.
You will ideally have experience in one or more of the following:
