Housing Support Worker
Colchester

£19.28 LTD / £16.54 PAYE (inc hol)
Join a leading national charity and play a vital role in supporting vulnerable individuals to maintain their tenancies, gain independence, and move on to more stable housing.

THE ROLE
We are recruiting for a Housing Support Worker in Colchester to deliver person-centred housing-related support and tenancy management across 3–4 properties, supporting a caseload of over 10 service users.

• Develop and implement personalised Support and Safety Plans
• Deliver a minimum of two hours weekly 1-1 support per service user
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using internal systems
• Identify and report anti-social behaviour and ensure property standards are upheld
• Work in partnership with external agencies including The Probation Service
• Support service users with life skills and practical domestic tasks
• Maximise rent collection and ensure benefit claims are managed effectively

THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role supporting vulnerable adults in a housing or supported living setting.

• Experience managing a caseload and developing support plans
• Strong understanding of housing management and benefits processes
• Ability to work collaboratively with external partners and agencies
• Confident in lone working and using own initiative
• Holds a valid driving licence, has access to a vehicle, and valid business insurance

THE CONTRACT

• 40 working hours per week, with 35 hours paid and 5 hours unpaid lunch breaks.
• The role includes occasional Saturday working with a day off in lieu (Monday).
• Shift patterns include 8am–4pm and 2pm–10pm.
• This is a 3-month temporary contract with potential to become permanent.
• The pay for the role is £19.28 per hour LTD company rate.
• The PAYE equivalent is £16.54 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
