Job summary

Boston Borough Council is seeking a passionate Housing Standards Officer to help shape housing quality across the Borough. You will protect residents, improve conditions, and ensure landlords meet responsibilities within the private rented sector.

Job Overview

No two days are the same in this rewarding role. Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting risk-based property inspections and identifying housing hazards in accordance with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
• Investigating and regulating Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), working closely with landlords and managing agents to achieve compliance.
• Processing HMO licence applications.
• Undertaking Immigration and Homes for Ukraine accommodation inspections.
• Bringing empty properties back into use across the Borough.
• Gathering evidence and preparing documentation to support enforcement action where necessary.
• Preparing professional evidence bundles for court proceedings and legal action.
