Housing Officer Voids Housing

Location: Ashington, Northumberland

Salary: £36,047 per annum (including car allowance)

Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent

Closing Date: 12 Noon on Friday, 16th May 2025

About The Role

You will be based at our head office in Ashington, covering Berwick, South East Northumberland, North Tyneside, and Newcastle, with flexibility to cover other areas such as Durham when needed.

Responsibilities

This role involves preparing properties for new residents, ensuring safety and readiness. Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting vacant properties and coordinating repairs to ensure they are 'ready to let'
  • Collaborating with contractors, social services, energy suppliers, and internal teams
  • Maintaining detailed records and tracking progress using systems like QL
  • Managing energy transfers and resolving supply issues with providers like British Gas
  • Ensuring all documentation such as EPCs, gas safety certificates, and EICRs are in place

Requirements
  • Experience in housing, property, or building management
  • Ability to coordinate multiple teams and stakeholders under deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, especially regarding repairs, maintenance, and health & safety
