EPIC Housing is the proud custodian of approximately 1,400 homes across North Staffordshire with properties in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the Staffordshire Moorlands. Our homes come in two flavours; ‘social’ and ‘affordable’ rents and our tenants are the real VIPs in our world.

About The Role
We are looking for a Housing Officer to join our team to support income collection and debt recovery. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of income collection and debt recovery processes, along with the ability to manage EPIC's property lettings and tenancies efficiently.
Role Responsibilities
1. To ensure EPIC’s properties are let efficiently and in accordance with its allocation policies, with the aim of promoting successful and sustainable tenancies.
2. To identify properties that can be relet without rent loss and prioritise property viewings and allocations appointments as appropriate, to minimise the amount of rent lost whilst a property is empty.
3. To respond to customer enquiries regarding the management of their homes within our customer service standards.
4. To ensure as far as possible that EPIC’s tenants feel safe in their homes and implement solutions, in partnership with other agencies, to maintain safeguarding and community safety.
5. To monitor and manage tenancies including tenants who require additional support to maintain their tenancy, making referrals to external agencies as appropriate.
6. To develop and implement tenancy management plans where necessary.
7. To manage cases of non-access for maintenance work ensuring that we meet our statutory obligations.
8. To manage tenancy breaches in line with policy and procedure, including taking enforcement action.
9. To work in partnership with local agencies such as the Police, local authorities and health services, where appropriate.
10. To maximise rental income and manage debt through a mix of support and enforcement as appropriate to the case.
11. To monitor grounds maintenance contractors’ delivery and raise any concerns regarding the standards.
12. To review and make decisions regarding customer permission requests in respect of their tenancy.
13. To support the marketing of low-demand properties to ensure relet targets are met.
14. To take responsibility for remedying fire risk actions identified as part of the inspection regime or fire risk assessments.
15. To regularly review and update agreed areas of the business’ digital platforms and website.
16. To report repairs as identified on site.
17. To process tenancy terminations upon receipt.

6. Adherence to company policies and industry regulations related to safeguarding to promote a safe and secure environment for employees, tenants, and stakeholders.
