Job summary

Sellick Partnership (Legal) Limited invites applications for a Paralegal within the Housing Management and Property Litigation team in Birmingham. You will support solicitors, handle a varied caseload and develop your own docket across housing disputes and property litigation.

Ideal candidates will have a 2:2 degree or above, strong research and drafting skills, and ideally the LPC or current study. Experience with pleadings, witness statements and handling client communications is valued.

Qualifications

• 2:2 degree or above is required.
• Strong legal research and drafting skills are essential.
• Ideally, the LPC or currently studying for it.
• Experience preparing pleadings and witness statements.
• Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail.
• Confident in dealing with clients and clear English communication.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload and tight deadlines.
• Proactive, resilient and able to work with limited supervision.
• Experience with Registered Providers, private landlords or the County Court is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Possession proceedings relating to rent arrears, breach of tenancy and anti-social behaviour.
• Injunction proceedings and disrepair claims.
• Claims involving leaseholders, including forfeiture.
• Drafting claim forms, pleadings and witness statements.
• Preparing trial bundles and managing court paperwork.
• Liaising with Courts, Barristers, clients and other fee earners.
• Attending Court to support Barristers and Solicitors.
• Conducting routine County Court advocacy.
• Building and developing your own caseload with support from solicitors.
