From 2023 - 2024, 3,718 young people received advice and support. During this period, 1,616 young people were supported, and 1,034 lived in over 40 accommodation schemes. Up to 590 young people stayed with us each night, and 87% moved on positively and in a planned manner.

Housing Management Officer
Hours of Work:
Full Time (37.5 hours/week), 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Enable young people to sustain their tenancy and take responsibility for their property.
- Assist in reporting repairs, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring properties meet standards before letting.
- Help maximize and retain young people's income and assist with rent payments.
- Support young people in debt management and signpost to relevant agencies.
- Ensure safeguarding of young people's welfare.
- Record and manage rent and payments according to procedures.
- Coordinate with support staff regarding young people's support needs.
- Assist with benefit claims and support new residents during admissions and induction.
- Maintain accommodation standards and undertake administrative tasks.
- Support initiatives to maximize income and deal with breaches of tenure.
- Be available out of hours on a rota basis for support and emergency cover.
- Work as part of a team, including supervising volunteers and trainees.
- Utilize ICT systems effectively and manage incident reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to minimize rental loss and handle court documentation.
- Travel to various sites to deliver services.
- Perform any other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- GCSE English and Maths - C Grade or above, or equivalent.
- Desirable: NVQ 3 in Care, Advice & Guidance, or related housing management qualification.
Role Experience:
- Experience working with young people in relevant settings such as youth work, social work, probation, community work, education, or housing support.
- Supervisory experience with volunteers or students is desirable.
Knowledge:
- Up-to-date knowledge of welfare rights and resources.
- Understanding the difference between friendship and support.
Skills:
- Ability to perform calculations, manage budgets, and advise on welfare rights.
- Experience in risk and needs assessments for vulnerable young people.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively across diverse groups.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and at various sites.
- Handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and organizational skills.
