Job Title: Housing Management Worker
Location: York, UK
Salary: 27,575 per year
Job Type: Full-time (37 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days on a rota basis)
Driver's Licence Required: Yes

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and organised Housing Management Worker to provide safe, secure, and empowering accommodation and support services for women in York who are experiencing multiple disadvantages. You'll play a key role in managing safe houses, providing practical and emotional support, and working collaboratively with other professionals to create lasting change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular property checks to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Report and follow up on repairs; maintain compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Support women to complete housing benefit forms and manage rent payments.
  • Work with women to create support plans, risk assessments, and realistic move-on goals.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and tenancy breaches.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with residents and multi-agency partners.
  • Help women access services related to domestic abuse, substance use, mental health, and criminal justice.
  • Maintain accurate records using our case management systems.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience working with vulnerable women or those with complex needs (e.g. domestic abuse, substance use, criminal justice)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding adults and children
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
  • IT competency (Word, Outlook, internet-based systems)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a trauma-informed team
  • Driver with access to own vehicle and appropriate insurance

Desirable:

  • Experience using housing management software
  • Understanding of housing benefit processes and tenancy management
  • Experience working in a multi-agency setting
