Job summary

William James Recruitment is seeking a Housing Litigation Solicitor in Manchester with up to 5 PQE to join a leading housing litigation team. You will handle a broad caseload for Registered Providers, advising on anti-social behaviour, possession proceedings and housing management matters.

You will attend court, draft pleadings, and support senior lawyers on high-value matters while building strong client relationships and delivering commercially-focused advice in a collaborative, supportive

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with up to 5 years’ PQE.
• Experience in housing litigation, social housing law or a strong interest in the sector.
• Exposure to contentious legal work and case management.
• Advocacy experience or a genuine desire to develop advocacy skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
• Proactive, ambitious and career-driven approach.
• Team focused with a collaborative working style.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong drafting and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of housing litigation matters on behalf of Registered Providers.
• Advising on anti-social behaviour cases and enforcement action.
• Conducting possession proceedings and housing management litigation.
• Handling injunction applications and committal proceedings.
• Managing housing disrepair and property condition claims.
• Advising on hoarding and access matters.
• Attending court hearings and undertaking advocacy where appropriate.
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, applications and other legal documentation.
• Supporting senior lawyers on complex and high-value matters.
• Building strong client relationships and delivering practical, commercially focused advice.
