Housing Litigation Solicitor

Contract: 3-6 months - likely to be extended
Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE
Flexible Hybrid Working

A London Borough Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Housing Litigation Solicitor to join their Legal Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-performing local authority, supporting vital housing litigation and advisory work that directly impacts our residents and communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Take over and manage a live caseload of 50+ complex housing litigation matters Provide clear, practical legal advice to internal clients.
• Represent the council in court proceedings and liaise with counsel where necessary.
• Draft legal documents and correspondence.
• Respond to new instructions efficiently and support the wider team during high-demand periods.

Key Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (ICLEX or Law Society membership essential).
• Strong experience in housing law, particularly possession and ASB litigation.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
• Excellent communication, drafting, and advocacy skills.
• A proactive, solution-focused approach to legal problem-solving.
