Job summary

Social Housing Law Association (SHLA) invites applications for a solicitor or barrister to advise on housing litigation, including anti-social behaviour and tenancy breach cases. You will prepare court applications, statements, and supporting evidence, and represent the organisation in court or via external counsel.

  • Solicitor or barrister with rights of audience.
  • Experience managing housing litigation.
  • Knowledge of civil procedure rules and court processes.

  • Ability to draft legal documents and prepare court cases.

You have
  • Solicitor or barrister qualification with rights of audience
  • Experience managing housing litigation or a similar legal caseload
  • Knowledge of civil procedure rules and court processes
  • Experience handling anti-social behaviour, possession, or tenancy breach cases
  • You have skills in drafting legal documents and preparing court cases

The practical bits
  • We generally work on a hybrid basis with 2 days a week based in our Newcastle City Centre office, but are open to being based in other offices and flexible working arrangements for the right candidate
  • You’ll work Monday to Friday with flexibility built in
