Job summary

Croydon Council is seeking a Trainee Support Officer to join the Homeless Intervention Prevention team in Croydon. This 36‑hour-per-week, permanent role provides admin and customer support to help officers assist people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

You will gain experience across housing services, learn processes, and develop skills while supporting a compassionate team. Career Grade 4-5 with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience of administration, customer service or support work.
• Strong attention to detail and record keeping.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare correspondence and documents for the team.
• Arrange appointments and manage referrals and mailboxes.
• Maintain accurate records and trackers.
• Respond to routine enquiries and escalate complex queries.
