ESSENTIAL EMPLOYMENT LTD is seeking a Housing Enforcement Lead in Newcastle for a full-time temporary role, paying £26.19 per hour. The role leads housing enforcement across private rented and licensed properties.

You will manage investigations, enforce the Housing Act 2004, Environmental Protection Act 1990, and related regulations, authorise enforcement actions, supervise officers, develop policies, represent the council in court, and liaise with landlords, tenants and partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing enforcement or regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of Housing Act 2004 and related legislation.
• Ability to manage complex investigations and enforcement actions.

Responsabilités

• Lead the delivery of housing enforcement functions across private rented and licensed properties.
• Manage complex investigations relating to disrepair, overcrowding, unlawful evictions, harassment, rogue landlords, and housing standards.
• Authorise and oversee enforcement actions including improvement notices, prohibition orders and prosecutions.
• Supervise Housing Enforcement Officers, providing training and performance feedback.
• Represent the council in court proceedings, tribunals and hearings when required.
• Liaise with landlords, tenants, legal services and partner agencies.
