Job summary

A Housing & Compliance Officer is sought for a permanent, full-time role with Adecco in North London. The position focuses on housing management and health & safety, serving as the first point of contact for tenants within a small patch of properties.

The role involves visits to managed accommodation and travel between sites. You will handle tenancy management, health & safety inspections, and compliance checks, maintaining accurate records and enforcing tenancy responsibilities where required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience in housing, supported housing, health and safety, or a related environment.
• Experience conducting property, health & safety, or compliance inspections and maintaining records.
• Familiarity with health and safety policies, procedures, and compliance requirements in housing environments.
• Experience working with tenants, contractors, landlords, and external agencies to resolve issues.
• Driver/owner of a car is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accommodation is safe, compliant, and suitable for tenants.
• Maintain health & safety compliance records, certificates, risk assessments and inspections.
• Provide an outstanding housing management service and act as main contact for tenants.
• Assist with tenancy sign-ups, viewings, and letting properties.
• Address tenancy issues, anti-social behaviour, and breaches through early intervention and enforcement where needed.
• Monitor rent accounts and arrears per policy; support enforcement actions when required.
• Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and inspections with contractors and track follow-ups.
• Support tenants in accessing services such as Universal Credit and Housing Benefit.
• Organise tenant and neighbourhood meetings; respond to complaints within set timescales.
