Job summary

Pertemps Recruitment Partnership on behalf of the London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Homelessness Prevention and Solutions Support Officer in Harrow. This temporary, office-based role is 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at £16.71 per hour.

The position is full-time and based at Harrow Civic Centre, with contract until March 2027. You will register applicants on housing databases, provide compassionate guidance to residents facing housing difficulties, and support essential prevention

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with the public daily, over the phone and in person, in a customer-focused environment.
• Background in housing is desirable.
• Experience working in an office environment handling multiple tasks daily.
• Ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Register new applicants on housing databases and ensure documentation is uploaded and maintained accurately.
• Be the first point of contact for individuals seeking housing advice and direct them to appropriate services.
• Book appointments for Homelessness Prevention and Solutions Officers, arranging visits outside normal hours when required.
• Inform clients promptly if appointments are delayed or cancelled and rearrange at a suitable time.
• Handle challenging situations calmly and provide initial advice on housing or homelessness applications.
