Job summary

Warner Hotels Lakeside Coastal Village on Hayling Island is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor to cover a maternity leave period. You will lead the housekeeping team across guest rooms and public areas, ensuring cleanliness, presentation and guest satisfaction to the highest standards.

The role requires proactive leadership and a hands-on approach to daily tasks. You will organise duties, train staff, monitor supplies and maintain accurate schedules while upholding health and safety

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel housekeeping.
• Experience supervising or leading a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and high cleaning standards.
• Good communication, organisation and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to working shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the housekeeping team, ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards.
• Allocate duties and room assignments according to occupancy levels and priorities.
• Inspect guest accommodation, bathrooms, communal areas and facilities to ensure cleanliness meets company standards.
• Ensure rooms are cleaned and ready for guest arrivals within required timeframes.
• Train, guide and motivate team members to promote teamwork and professional conduct.
• Monitor supplies and report shortages; ensure safe use of chemicals and equipment.
• Report maintenance issues and health & safety concerns to relevant departments.
• Respond professionally to guest requests and housekeeping-related complaints.
• Maintain cleaning schedules, inspection records and shift handover reports.

Join our team at Lakeside, part of the Warner Hotels Group. This hotel on Hayling Island has spa facilities, a cabaret restaurant, and overlooks a lake near the Hampshire coast.

Lakeside Coastal Village is looking for a dedicated, organised, and enthusiastic Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team to cover a period of Maternity Leave. The successful candidate will help maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and guest satisfaction throughout our accommodation and public areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with housekeeping experience and strong leadership skills who takes pride in creating a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests.

• Supervise and support the housekeeping team, ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards.
• Allocate duties and room assignments according to occupancy levels and operational priorities.
• Inspect guest accommodation, bathrooms, communal areas, and facilities to ensure cleanliness and presentation meet company standards.
• Ensure rooms are cleaned, checked, and ready for guest arrivals within the required timeframes.
• Train, guide, and motivate team members, promoting teamwork and professional conduct.
• Monitor housekeeping supplies, cleaning products, towels, and linen, reporting shortages when necessary.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment and chemicals are used safely and correctly.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged items, and health and safety concerns to the relevant department.
• Respond professionally to guest requests and housekeeping-related complaints.
• Maintain accurate cleaning schedules, inspection records, and shift handover reports.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, hygiene requirements, and health and safety regulations.

• Previous experience in hotel, resort, holiday park, or accommodation housekeeping.
• Experience supervising or leading a team, or the ability to demonstrate strong leadership potential.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high cleaning standards.
• Good communication, organisation, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A flexible approach to working shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, where required.
