Housekeeping Services Supervisor (Part-time). Salary from £15,482-£19,352 per annum for 20-25 hours per week.

An excellent opportunity to join a prestigious organisation in a varied and fulfilling role in a small friendly team. Your day‑to‑day duties will include:

  • Supervising the Domestic Assistants to ensure the delivery of a timely and efficient Housekeeping Service
  • Liaising with student residents to encourage responsible use and care of residential facilities
  • Management of attendance, performance and conduct
  • Assisting the Head Housekeeper and Head of Housekeeping with their responsibilities
  • Liaising with other departments, including Maintenance and Accommodation, as required

This is a hands‑on position, so you must be comfortable getting involved in cleaning tasks when required. This is not an office‑based role, and only 10% of the weekly working time will be spent on administrative duties.

Qualifications
  • GCSE Grade C (or above) in Maths or English or equivalent
  • Substantial experience in a Housekeeping role as well as in a supervisory role within a hospitality environment
  • Strong initiative, a proactive approach, and the ability to lead by example
  • Detailed knowledge of the usage and application of a range of cleaning products
  • Good understanding of relevant Health & Safety provisions, including COSHH, manual handling and lone working
  • Proficiency in the use of emails and databases
  • A good command of the English language. The ideal candidate will be a team player, with a flexible approach to tasks and able to work without direct supervision, prioritising a busy workload

Details of the role

The post of Housekeeping Services Supervisor is a permanent, part‑time role. The hours of work available are either 20 or 25 hours per week, Monday‑Friday (although some weekend working will be required - for which notice will be given), with a daily unpaid 30‑minute lunch break. There is potential for a degree of flexibility on start/finish times. The annual salary is £15,482-£19,352 per annum for 20‑25 hours per week (Step 33 on the College Salary Scale).
