Job summary

Buckinghamshire College Group is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Operative (Cleaner) to join the Amersham Campus team. The role is 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, with pro rata salary and a range of benefits.

You will maintain clean, welcoming spaces and support students, staff and visitors in a professional education environment. The ideal candidate will have cleaning experience, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to manage time effectively while working across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• General cleaning experience in a commercial environment.
• Promote and deliver outstanding customer service.
• Ability to manage own time effectively.
• Work flexibly across sites as needed.
• Awareness of Health and Safety regulations regarding cleaning agents and eco-friendly products.
• Collaborate with a friendly housekeeping team.

Responsibilities

• Dusting, damp wiping, polishing, and vacuuming.
• Dry and wet mopping using colour-coded systems.
• Cleaning toilets, showers, basins, walls, and glass.
• Machine scrubbing, buffing, and spray cleaning.
• Refuse removal and safe disposal.
• Using cleaning equipment, materials, and eco-friendly products correctly and safely.
• Following daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules.
• Responding promptly to requests and reporting any issues or faulty equipment.
• Adhering to health & safety and manual handling procedures.
• Working flexibly across college sites when required.
