Job summary

Hotel Gotham Bristol is turning Bristol's Guildhall into a luxury five-star lifestyle hotel. As Housekeeping Manager, you will build and lead a high-performing team from the ground up, setting operational standards and training programmes that reflect the Gotham brand.

In this pre-opening phase, you will recruit, develop and inspire a team, manage costs and maintain exceptional guest experiences from day one, ensuring five-star standards across bedrooms, public spaces and outlets.

• Experience leading a housekeeping team in a luxury hotel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the housekeeping team to ensure spotless guest experiences and immaculate public areas.
• Create a positive working culture within the housekeeping team.
• Manage all department costs and inventory within budget guidelines.
• Set standards for bedrooms, public spaces and outlets via SOPs and training.
• Delegate cleaning tasks to maintain five-star standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes or procedures.
• Collaborate with department heads to ensure seamless guest journeys.
• Ensure SOP adherence and assist across departments where possible.
• Drive guest satisfaction within housekeeping and contribute to broader guest experience.

As our Housekeeping Manager, you'll play a pivotal role as a member of the senior management team during the pre-opening phase of our 75 bedroom breathtaking hotel.This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a passionate housekeeping team from the ground up, creating a culture of excellence that defines every guest's experience from the moment they arrive.

You’ll be responsible for recruiting, developing and inspiring a high-performing housekeeping department, creating operational standards and training programmes that will set the benchmark for our five-star luxury hotel. From beautifully presented guest bedrooms and immaculate public areas to supporting throughout the entire property, you'll ensure every detail reflects the distinctive Gotham brand and creates an unforgettable guest experience from day one. The perfect candidate is a passionate individual who leads by example with perfection in every detail.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Lead the housekeeping team to ensuring the guest experiences are spotless, with perfectly put together bedrooms and faultless public areas
• Creative a positive working culture within the housekeeping team, inspiring the attendants to continuously strive for impeccable housekeeping standards
• Manage all department costs and ensure expenses are kept in line with the budget guidelines, managing and controlling all housekeeping stock and orders
• Full responsibility and lead on the standards for all bedrooms, public spaces and food and beverage outlets through SOPs, training and regular checking and monitoring
• Effectively and fairly assign and delegate cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the venue is in keeping with its five-star standard and expectation
• Pro-actively identify opportunities to improve and enhance any processes or procedures
• Work closely with all department heads to ensure a seamless guest experience and journey
• Ensure all hotel standard operating procedures are adhered to and assist wherever possible
• Achieve the highest level possible of guest satisfaction within the housekeeping department but actively involved in all others and promote this within their team
